The Lavaca County Court Calendar
Official channels carry the calendar, and most of them are PDFs. The county posts fixed docket PDFs. They cover the 25th Judicial District Court and Lavaca County Court. A district criminal PDF may carry a heading like "Pre-Trial & Announce" tied to a later jury date. A civil PDF may say "CIVIL NON JURY DOCKET." County Court reports use "Docket Call Listing" and may cover criminal misdemeanor or probate settings. Treat each document as a calendar slice. It is not a live register of every case event.
The 25th District Court page is a local starting point. So are the Second 25th District Court page and the clerk pages. Court administrators maintain the district dockets plus annual jury and non-jury calendars. A generic event calendar will never replace a filed notice. It will not replace the latest docket PDF or direct confirmation from the court either.
Lavaca County Docket Call Listings
A Lavaca County Court Docket Call Listing groups settings by report range and scheduled date. Sample reports list the case class and cause number. They also show file date, charge or probate type, bond or representative details, setting type, and "Other Court Events." That layout separates the current setting from earlier steps. It also explains why the calendar is not the whole file: a listing may name a hearing yet leave out the motion, order, judgment, or final result behind it.
Work through the PDF from the header down. Verify the court and report date before anything else, then match the exact cause number. Read the main date, time, and Court Setting Type as one unit. Need a plea, judgment, sentence, signed probate order, or balance? Ask the clerk for the case record.
Note: A docket call listing proves a published setting. It does not prove the setting stayed unchanged after publication.
How to Find Your Court Date
Start a Lavaca County court calendar search with the court name printed on your citation, notice, bond paper, or prior order. Felony and district civil matters route to the District Clerk and the district coordinator. County Court misdemeanors, civil cases, probate, and guardianships go to the County Clerk or the County Court coordinator. JP and municipal settings stay with the named precinct or city. A later proceeding creates a new case only rarely.
- Record the exact court, cause number, and appearance date from the newest document.
- Check the county’s dated District or County Court PDF. For a published electronic case, also search Hearings in re:SearchTX.
- Compare the current setting with dates under Other Court Events.
- Call the District Clerk at 361-798-2351 or County Court coordinator at 361-798-2301 as appropriate. Call the named JP or municipal clerk for lower-court cases.
- Confirm the time, courtroom, and whether the appearance is in person or remote.
- Check a daily printed courthouse docket call when available and consult counsel if represented.
Texas offers no single unrestricted public trial-court search for every Lavaca County case. A missing statewide result does not prove no hearing exists. The full Lavaca County case search route walks through the local and state layers.
Lavaca Child Protection Calendar
Child-protection cases do not sit on the main Lavaca County court docket. They run through a separate court. The Centex Child Protection Court South calendar is where those hearing dates appear. The page opens with a date selector. There is no name search and no case-number field, so you browse by date instead. Detail stays limited on purpose, since these matters involve protected children. Use the selector for public setting information only.
The official selector is the clear way to spot separate Lavaca docket dates. It serves this court alone.

That control opens a specialty calendar. Access to the underlying file still depends on the court and lawful access rights.
Reading a Court Setting
Treat a Lavaca County court calendar entry as a bundle of fields. It is not a single line. District PDFs often place the judge, docket type, and session time in the heading. County Court listings repeat more detail inside each case block. Some samples leave out the courtroom number. A missing room calls for confirmation rather than a guess.
| Date | The current date in the main block; older dates may appear under Other Court Events. |
|---|---|
| Time | The session start, which may not be the minute one case is reached. |
| Courtroom | The assigned place when published; call if the PDF omits it. |
| Judge | The presiding judge or named court, subject to later assignment. |
| Setting Type | Arraignment, pretrial, announce, non-jury, revocation, probate hearing, or jury trial. |
A setting is never a result. "REVOCATION HEARING" tells you why the matter is listed, not its outcome. Likewise, "NON-JURY" marks the type of setting, not a conviction or final judgment.
Lavaca Court Coordinator Confirmation
Coordinator confirmation matters here because Lavaca County sits inside a multi-county district structure. The 25th District Court coordinator is Lynn Bothe at 830-303-4188. The Second 25th coordinator is Rachel Luna at 830-303-9705. That court's page prefers email for setting requests. A Lavaca hearing may take place in Hallettsville even though the Second 25th main office is in Seguin. The Second 25th coordinator page shows the direct scheduling route.

Settings are the coordinator's job. Filed pleadings and certified copies are a different matter, and the District Clerk keeps those records. For a County Court setting, call 361-798-2301. Staff can confirm dates and administrative details, though they cannot give legal advice.
Resets, Continuances, and Cancellations
Three words do different work in Lavaca County. A reset simply moves a setting. A continuance is a delay the court approves. A cancellation wipes the event off the docket. Just because an old date came and went, or a case dropped out of one PDF, do not assume any of those happened. On Lavaca County Court reports, earlier dates often sit under Other Court Events while the live date fills the main block, and that history is not flagged with the word reset.
When a filed notice and the online docket disagree, check which one is dated later and ask the coordinator which setting controls. Need proof? Request the reset order or the later notice. A continuance belongs to the judge alone, and requesting one does not excuse you from showing up at the setting already set.
Note: Keep written notice of any changed date, and write down who confirmed the current setting.
Lavaca Court Calendar Terms
Labels in a Lavaca County calendar describe stages, not outcomes. Knowing what a term means lets you ask the right follow-up question instead of reading a planned hearing as a ruling.
- ARRAIGNMENT
- An initial formal criminal setting on County Court reports.
- PT or PRE TRIAL
- Preparation, motions, plea discussion, or readiness before trial.
- ANNOUNCE
- A readiness setting, sometimes linked to a later jury date.
- JT or JURY TRIAL
- A trial setting, not proof that trial occurred.
- PROBATE HEARING
- A County Court setting in a probate case.
- DOCKET CALL LISTING
- The calendar report, not the full register of filings.
No published glossary of docket codes exists for Lavaca County on its own. When an abbreviation confuses you, ask the clerk what it means here rather than guessing from a generic list.
Lavaca Calendar Appearance Method
An old link does not mean a Zoom hearing. District notices treat in-person appearances as the default. Zoom stays available for certain settings and custody matters. Your individual case is governed by its order or the coordinator's confirmation. Show up in person unless current instructions say otherwise. The official judge and coordinator page lists public setting contacts.

That page verifies current administrative instructions. A case notice is still more specific. Hallettsville Municipal Court has posted its own dated Zoom notice, but a city notice is no permanent countywide remote calendar, so confirm with the city clerk.
What To Do If You Miss a Setting
Missed a Lavaca County court calendar setting? Act fast. Call the court named on your notice, or call your lawyer, give the cause number, and ask where the case stands and what comes next. In District Court, reach out to the district coordinator and the District Clerk. For the County Court calendar, that coordinator handles the setting. A JP or city citation goes back to the court printed on the citation itself.
Missed a Setting? A missed date can lead to a failure-to-appear charge, warrant, bond action, or other court order.
Contact the named clerk, coordinator, and your lawyer at once, then ask whether a new date or filing is required.
Do not assume that an online payment resolves the missed hearing.
Get written confirmation whenever you can. Counsel should advise you if a warrant, bond term, or deadline might apply, since a safe response matters. Court staff will explain process facts but cannot promise your absence will be excused.
